Policies

Cancellation Policy

By agreeing to these terms, you agree that you have read all the website/class information and agree to the policies and information therein.

Firearms training classes have limited spaces based on range conditions and availability of additional range safety officers.  Once a class is full, additional students are not accepted, if a student cancels or fails to show up they may have prevented someone else from attending.  Please ensure you are equipped and prepared to attend the training BEFORE you sign up. 

Reschedule Policy

By agreeing to these terms, you agree that you have read all the website/class information and agree to the policies and information therein.

If something comes up and you can't make it to your scheduled class, you may reschedule for a later class date provided you give written notice via email at info@AOT.com.

Refund Policy

By agreeing to these terms, you agree that you have read all the website/class information and agree to the policies and information therein.

Refunds will be given only for severe medical and family emergencies. But you may reschedule to a later class date.  Any refund given will be subject to a $ XX.00 Administrative and Processing Fee.

Other Policy

  • Students will be briefed at the start of each class day on safety policies and procedures.  Failing to follow these policies and procedures may result in the student being removed from class with no refund.  
  • Classroom: Absolutely no ammunition allowed in the classroom
  • Range: Please read and obey all posted range policies
  • Please do not bring guns or live ammo into the classroom.

Waiver

I understand that I am entering a training experience hosted by Tactical Education & Defense, LLC at my own risk.

For and in consideration of good and valuable consideration, including, but not limited to, CPR and First Aid instruction and certification, the receipt and sufficiency of which is acknowledged hereby, I hereby waive my rights to all claims for injuries that I may sustain arising out of the CPR instruction or any subsequent activities arising therefrom. I further agree to hold harmless CPR Training Professionals for all injuries, be them physical, fiscal or otherwise, that I may inflict upon others as a result of the CPR instruction.

I recognize and acknowledge that there are certain risks of physical injury involved in attending a CPR instruction course, and I agree to assume the full risk of injuries, including death, damages or losses which I may sustain as a result of attending a course of CPR instruction with CPR Training Professionals. I agree to waive and relinquish any and all claims I may have arising out of, or connected with, said course, whether they relate to injuries to myself or others.

During firearm training (including simulations) where I am likely to encounter high levels of noise and the discharge of ammunition from firearms. I acknowledge the risks and dangers that exist in my use of all firearms and my participation in shooting activities. I acknowledge and understand that shooting activities are inherently hazardous and involve both known and unanticipated risks which could result in damage or destruction of property and physical or emotional injury, including, without limitation, paralysis or death, of myself or of other persons and I assume the risks that could result in physical and/or emotional injury, paralysis, death, or damage to myself, to property, or to third-parties. The risks include, but are not limited to, flying bullets, flying debris, noise, being shot by or shooting myself or others; partial or total loss of eyesight or hearing; inhalation or other harmful contact with lead or other contaminants; burns and scarring; and being struck by flying or falling objects. 

This release is binding on my heirs, successors, and assigns. If any part of this agreement is deemed to be void, this will have no effect on the remainder of this agreement. 

I further acknowledge and understand that Tactical Education & Defense, LLC has no duty to undertake first-aid or rescue operations or procedures in the event any such property damage or physical or emotional injury occurs. Notwithstanding the foregoing and while Tactical Education & Defense, LLC has no obligation to undertake first aid, in the event of an emergency, I hereby consent to emergency medical care by Tactical Education & Defense, LLC personnel or others, including, without limitation, CPR, first aid, emergency transport, and I shall be responsible for all costs involved. 

I further acknowledge and understand that Tactical Education & Defense, LLC makes no warranty as to the design, manufacture, maintenance, condition or fitness for any particular purpose of any range facilities or equipment, including, but not limited to: firearms, ammunition, eye/hearing protection, and first-aid supplies. I agree to assume all responsibility and liability for any act or acts, even any negligent, reckless, or criminal act or omission to act, of my guests at the range and for minors under my supervision. I also agree to supervise and be responsible for any minor in my care while attending a Tactical Education & Defense, LLC training event. I agree to be personally responsible for my safety and the safety of minors under my supervision and for the safety of my guests. I agree to wear all appropriate safety equipment, including, without limitation, ear and eye protection. 

In addition to, and not in limitation of, all other provisions of this waiver, I understand that participating in a Tactical Education & Defense, LLC training event may pose a heightened risk of exposure to the coronavirus (covid-19) and I knowingly accept the risk. I understand and agree that I will not attend a Tactical Education & Defense, LLC training event if I have any symptoms of covid-19, if I have been knowingly exposed to anyone who is suspected to have, or is confirmed to have, covid-19 in the previous fifteen (15) days or if I have travelled to a country or state with a known covid-19 outbreak in the past fifteen (15) days. While attending a Tactical Education & Defense, LLC training event, I will practice social distancing in accordance with CDC guidelines. I will comply with all other CDC guidelines, including, without limitation, frequent hand washing and covering coughs and sneezes. I acknowledge that I assume all risks associated with contracting covid-19, or being exposed to covid-19, while attending a Tactical Education & Defense, LLC training event. I release Tactical Education & Defense, LLC from all claims, costs, causes of actions, or liabilities arising out of or related to any loss, personal injury or death related to covid-19 or other illnesses or diseases.

In consideration of the right to attend a Tactical Education & Defense, LLC training event, I hold Tactical Education & Defense, LLC affiliates, owners, heirs, officers, members, employees and volunteers harmless from and indemnify them against, and release them from, any and all claims, demands, damages, expenses, causes of action, attachments of property, liability, injury, death or financial compensation, which may occur in present or future participation in any and all activities during an Tactical Education & Defense, LLC training event (even to the extent caused by the ordinary negligence of Tactical Education & Defense, LLC). I agree to compensate Tactical Education & Defense, LLC for damage resulting from improper use of the Tactical Education & Defense, LLC gear or training materials and/or damage caused by my negligence. I understand that photos and videos (including, without limitation, security videos) may be taken during a Tactical Education & Defense, LLC training event. If I do not object at the time photos and videos are taken, I agree that Tactical Education & Defense, LLC may use such photographs and videos of me with or without my name and for any lawful purpose, including for example such purposes as publicity, illustration, advertising, and web content. 

RANGE RULES (As Applicable)

All Federal, State, and Local firearm laws must be obeyed. Always follow all firearm safety rules: 

  • Always treat firearms like they are loaded. ALWAYS.
  • Always keep the muzzle pointed downrange.
  • Always keep your finger off the trigger and outside the trigger guard until you are ready to shoot.
  • All shooters must be aware of their target and what is behind it.
  • Do not attempt to catch a falling firearm.
  • Commands issued by Tactical Education & Defense, LLC staff must be obeyed immediately and without question.
  • Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their parent or guardian and supervised at all times. 
  • Eye protection and ear protection are mandatory at all times on the range.
  • Report any unsafe activity or conditions to the Tactical Education & Defense, LLC staff immediately.
  • Food, gum, smoking and tobacco are prohibited while attending an Tactical Education & Defense, LLC training event.
  • When the command “Cease Fire” is given, stop shooting IMMEDIATELY and wait for further instructions from the Tactical Education & Defense, LLC staff.
  • Always wash your hands immediately after shooting and/or gun cleaning.
  • Pregnant or nursing mothers are not allowed to attend Tactical Education & Defense, LLC training events.
  • Participants must be able to sit or stand for at least 30 minutes. Participants must also be able to stand while holding a firearm with weights up to 7 lbs. for up to 20 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to own a gun to take the course?
    - No.

What should I bring?
    - Every course includes a required equipment list.

How long does the class take?
    - Generally, the class portion takes 4-5 hours and the live fire (range) takes 1-3 hours.

Can I take the class if I live in another state but own property in SC?
    - Yes. You can apply for a non-resident permit.

Is there a $50 application fee?
    - No. (The new law removed the fee)

Do I need hearing and eye protection?
    - Yes. If you do not have either, please notify us before hand.

How long does it take to receive my permit?
    - SLED attempts to process all applications within 90 days.
